ALMOST GONE glass wind chime vintage chinese restaurant style hand painted

i remember my parents buying one of these at the chinese restaurant we used to go to when i was a kid.  it hung on our back porch for decades, plinking out its little tune with every breeze
this distinct, tinkling sound only can only be found in wind chimes made from thin glass
the chime is about 10 inches long from the brass hanging ring at the top to the bottom pieces of glass
these are
very
well packaged, with the pieces of glass wrapped in miniature bubble wrap,

so part of the experience will be unwrapping all the pieces!
also, when they were made, all the strings were tied on one side of each metal hoop; you will need to
spread out the strings, evenly, around
the hoops
similar to the glass wind chimes from the 50's and 60's, these can be used freely, indoors, or in a semi-protected area, outdoors.  even though each of the 24 panes
[8 square and 16 long rectangular]
of decorated glass is
tied

to its string, i still would not expect them to hold up to a hurricane
that being said, i have had two of these exact, same chimes on my back porch for about eleven years, year 'round.  they have held up well, even in winter... and this is only a screened porch, not a three-season room, mind you!  While i might need to untangle some of the strings after a particularly harsh windstorm, otherwise i have only lost one of the rectangular pieces in all that eleven years; the other 47 are still plinking merrily right along!

the glass pieces of my wind chimes are
tied, not glued!
look closely to see if your glass is only glued, with a little circle of gold paper
you could be very sorry, the first time it gets wet and the glue starts dissolving.
glass pieces will start dropping off and soon you’ll have nothing but metal rings with strings hanging from them
