    Description

Presented is a wonderful, old American coin silver beaker made by George Carleton of New York in 1818. The piece is completely hand made, you can see the hammered work on the inside of the cup. The front of the beaker has a monogram that reads: Issace V. Mary P. Davis ,1818, Arthur True Davis, their grandson, 1893. This piece was obviously given, probably as a wedding present in 1818. Later it descended in the same family and was given to the original recipients grandchild in 1893.
The underside is marked Carleton. This piece has been tested and is guaranteed to be coin .900 purity silver.
This piece is in excellent overall condition for its age. There are a couple of dents/dings to the underside, but this hardly matters. There is a slight dent to the side of the cup. There are no breaks, no splits, no monogram removals and no repairs.
The beaker measures 2 7/8 inches in diameter, is 3 1/2 inches tall and weighs 106 grams or 3.7 ounces.
