    Very Rare, Beautiful, Fancy, Antique Victorian Child's Special Occasion Shoulder Bodice Accessory, c.1890

    ESCRIPTION:
    Scans show it all.....Very nice, very beautiful fancy antique Victorian little girl's crocheted bodice accessory, c.1890. THE "ARMS" LAID OR WERE PINNED OVER THE SHOULDERS, SO THAT THE CENTER PART RESTS ON THE CHEST.  A GREAT LOOKING, ADULT APPEARING ACCESSORY TO PUT ON A LITTLE GIRL. Probably made for a little girl about 6 - 8 years old. It measures 8" wide x 11" long, with a 4" diameter neck hole which helps give an idea of child's size & age.
    In the center, in large 1" letters, the word "PET" is highlighted. I remember my grandmother calling me "PET" MY ENTIRE LIFE, and I believe it was a common, cute nickname for little girls in the late 1800's / early 1900's, carrying on with that generation that grew up, then old, during that period like my grandmother.
    Just as originally made over 100 years ago.
    Scans show it all, both back and front, and some of the closeup details. It is a beautiful, very fancy, highly decorated dress, and I believe you will be very pleased with it!
    From my personal collection. THIS COULD BE WORN AS IS, TO PROVIDE A CLASSIC, FANCY DRESS-UP VICTORIAN LOOK. IT WOULD ALSO BE A GREAT COSTUME, FOR A PARTY, or would make a dramatic wall decoration, or look great framed. It would also look great on a mannequin for display, as a background/accent piece in a variety of collections, even as a great, unique decoration in a dress shop!!
