I am pleased to offer a stunning vintage bone china teacup and saucer made by Hammersley & Co.
The very desirable "HOWARDS SPRAY"  pattern
Signed by the artist F. Howard - the facsimile signature is found on the bottom of the cup interior (you have to look closely!)
This is a very famous all-over CHINTZ pattern featuring a profusion of multi-colored flowers and leaves
I believe this is pattern 3257
This is the original and not a reproduced pattern
Likely dates from the 1940s
The cup interior and saucer are completely covered in the chintz pattern and the cup exterior features three larger matching bouquets
Beautiful gold gilding
Excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, hairlines, repairs, other damage or restoration
Very bright, unfaded handpainting details and glossy glaze
No wear to gold gilding
It does not appear to have seen much use
Cup is 4 1/2" across including handle and is 2 3/8" tall at side of handle; saucer is 5 3/8" across
