This is a 1999 Airflow Collectibles reissue of one of 1940’s coolest toy pedal airplanes - Viktor Schreckengost Murray Pedal Pursuit Plane.
This limited edition silver replica pedal plane designed by the legendary Cleveland artist Viktor Schreckengost. The first pedal plane was issued in 1941 by the Murray Company. In the 1940s, Schreckengost's designs for children's pedal cars (as well as bicycles and toys), helped Murray of Ohio become the world's largest manufacturer of pedal cars.
With the same quality specifications and appearance of the original, the Pursuit Pedal Plane in Silver has a sealed ball bearing drive, high traction tires, non slip pedals, moving spring loaded propeller and long lasting lead free powder coat paint. It was designed after WWII U.S. Army pursuit plane and built to last. Besides the padded seat and tires, all parts are made of heavy gauge steel.
I am not aware that these silver pursuit planes are available on the market anymore, except for used ones. The original 1941 planes in anything that resembles working condition are often priced in thousands.
