Stunning tea cup and saucer made by Hammersley & Co., of Staffordshire, England. A gorgeous English quatrefoil teacup made of Bone China. Over the years, Hammersley have constantly produced some of the most beautiful teacups, and this set is no exception. This pattern is called "
LORNA DOONE
", and features a lovely Springtime pastoral scene of a thatched cottage surrounded by trees, daffodils and bluebells.
The tea cup measures approx. 2 ¾”
(7cm)
high and 3 7/8” (10cm) wide. The saucer measures 5 7/8” (15cm) in diameter.
Very good condition. This has been a display set only and has never been used. No chips, cracks or repairs. There is a very tiny rough spot under the base rim of the cup. I have looked with a magnifying glass and can not see it.
As these are fine vintage goods, manufacturing imperfections do occur.
